Questions and Thoughts on 2015
It was that time of year again when we got together with fellow APG members to reflect on the successes, disappointments and dilemmas of the past gardening season. Together we were able to learn, share and also vent our frustrations!
The same as last year, our meeting included pre-written questions to open up the discussions.
We met at the Spicer House ...and to put us in the mood of the fall season, cider and donuts were served!

We met for a tour of Duvall Nursery where they propagate all of their plants.
They also pecialize in dwarf and hard-to-find plants, including Ginkgo, Maple, Conifers, Beech, and Dogwood.

Fifteenth Annual Conference of the APG
The Fifteenth Annual Conference of the Association of Professional Gardeners was held on March 2, 2013 at the Big Beaver United Methodist Church in Troy, Michigan. There were 44 attendees.
The conference started at 9:00 a.m. Sue Grubba, President, welcomed everyone and refreshed our memories with a wonderful PowerPoint presentation highlighting the recent activities of APG.
Patty Watkins, co-owner of Bogie Lake Greenhouses introduced some of the many unique varieties of plant material Bogie Lake offers. With a wide assortment of succulents, vines, perennials, topiaries, containers and garden ornaments to choose from, we acquired new ideas for this upcoming season.

Once again, we were invited to participate in the Bordine's Spring Expo held on April 16th and 17th at the Rochester Hills location. The event ran from 9-5 both days and we had members in attendance at the booth for the entire time on both days. If you are interested in working at the 2012 Spring Expo and possibly meeting potential clients, please contact Sue Grubba at suegrubba@sbcglobal.net
From roof top gardens to living walls. From Degroot spires to Sterling Lindens we had a fabulous tour of the insurance grounds with Eugene, the landscape supervisor. We learned about so many new plants and maintenance practices (using copper and zinc nails for Dutch Elm disease). We could visit again and again to gain more knowledge. Easily one of our best August outings!
